Safety at Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dubuque

Keeping Kids Safe is Our #1 Priority

At Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dubuque, child safety is our foundation. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive space for all children.

We have ZERO tolerance for inappropriate behavior of any kind, including child abuse or misconduct.

Our Commitment to Safety

We use multiple safety measures, including:

  • Annual background checks for staff and volunteers
  • Strict check-in and check-out procedures
  • Prohibiting private one-on-one contact between staff and youth
  • Ongoing staff training, including CPR, First Aid, and Active Threat Response
  • Mandatory annual safety assessments
  • Use of the Raptor Visitor Management System for enhanced security

Raptor Visitor Management System

The Raptor Visitor Management System enhances the Club’s security by:

  • Scanning a visitor’s driver’s license or government-issued ID
  • Comparing visitor information against a registered sex offender database
  • Alerting Club administrators and local authorities if a match is found
  • Providing a printed visitor badge that includes:
    • Photo
    • Name of the visitor
    • Date & time
    • Destination within the Club

The Raptor system ensures that all visitors are properly identified and screened before entering the Club, helping us maintain a safe environment for all children.
